Evaluating the Knicks’ Free Agent Signings

The Knicks have made a number of offseason moves to begin building for the future. In signing Raymond Felton, they have added the best point guard of the free agent class and in signing Amare Stoudemire they have added an explosive scorer to pair with Felton. When you consider the other contracts that were thrown [...]

Please Larry Brown

Speed up the offense.  Please.  It’s painful to watch the Charlotte Bobcats execute on offense.  Really.  I’d rather watch the WNBA Draft.  The halfcourt offense is anemic.  I don’t understand why Larry Brown can’t speed it up a bit.  They have a bunch of players who have been successful in more up-tempo systems.

NBA Playoffs Podcast

The NBA Playoffs have finally arrived and Dave, Anderson, and Gene came together to discuss what they thought of the first-round matchups. Due to some technical issues, however, we couldn’t post the podcast until today (it was recorded Thursday). Anyway, give it a listen and share your thoughts in the comments section. or Direct [...]

This is….MSG IDOL

As the trade deadline approaches and the Knicks are considering a trade for Tracy McGrady, which would provide significant cap relief for this summer, The FinalWord and Pinesol started thinking about the future. One of the trade rumors floating around includes acquiring T-Mac, Brian Cook, and Joey Dorsey for Jared Jeffries, Larry Hughes, and Jordan [...]

HOW DARE YOU CHINA?!?

HOW DARE YOU try to vote Tracy McGrady into the All-Star game? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! A PERVERSION OF DEMOCRACY! What did that loser do to deserve an All-Star selection this year? Is it because your favorite countryman can’t play in the ASG and T-Mac’s on the same team? RIDICULOUS! He hasn’t played ALL year! In fact, [...]

Young and the Rest(less)

- #1 Alabama v. #2 Texas – not taking anything away from the other undefeated teams (TCU, Cincinnati) I think the BCS did get it right by pitting these two teams against each other.  I know I can’t wait for the Shipley/Arenas matchup on the outside. Interesting fact: Other than LSU’s Justin Vincent in 2004, no [...]

NBA Power 16 – Week 5

I know I missed last week’s power rankings but stupid life got in the way as I had to take my CPA exam.  I think I passed but we’ll see I guess.  Anyway, nobody wants to hear about that.  Let’s get right into it. 1. LOS ANGELES LAKERS (8), 13-3 – The Lakers currently hold the [...]

The Knicks’ “Answer” for 2010?

Let me be real clear before I go any further.  Quite frankly, it’s getting harder and harder to vouch for Allen Iverson.  I’ve defended him throughout his career.  He rejuvenated basketball in Philadelphia but throughout his time in the “City of Brotherly Love” the fans didn’t show him enough of it.  They ragged on him [...]

NBA Power 16 – Week 3 – Crazy for Brandon Jennings

1. ATLANTA HAWKS (7), 8-2 – After defeating the Celtics on the road, the Hawks take over the top spot this week.  They have a difficult slate of games this week, however, as they face the Blazers, Heat, and Rockets.  Fortunately for them, they’re all home games.
