K-Rod better hope the Governator doesn’t come to Bruney’s rescue.

#1 – Who the hell are you Brian Bruney? According to his Wikipedia page, he was an extra in Kindergarten Cop. He’s probably more known for that than being a Major League reliever.  As a matter of fact, I was talking to my friend about the K-Rod/Bruney incident, or at least I wanted to.  Here is how far the conversation went:

Me: did you see k-rod confront brian bruney?
Friend: who is brian bruney?

So basically, yeah, considering Bruney has barely done anything in his career, how dare he say what he said about K-Rod:

“Unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like that. I have, but in high school. It couldn’t happen to a better guy on the mound, either. He’s got a tired act.”

“I just don’t like watching the guy pitch. I think it’s embarrassing.”"

Not sure what he was trying to do by calling Rodriguez out by that, especially after the Mets‘ closer got the other Rodriguez (A-Rod) to what should’ve been a game-ending pop-up.  If you’re going to do that, you might as well call our your teammate, Joba Chamberlain for doing the same crap as well.  Although I suppose you got to give him credit for speaking his mind.  It made for a nice little story and some good TV.

#2 – K-Rod, what are you doing confronting Bruney during batting practice?  You are better than that.  You said Bruney was a nobody yourself and that you wouldn’t even go after him.  In his words:

“He better keep his mouth shut and do his job and not worry about somebody else. If it came out from somebody big, I might pay attention to it. But somebody like that, it doesn’t bother me.”

It clearly did bother you since you went after him before Sunday’s game.  I don’t really mind you doing that seeing as how the Mets might be the least toughest team in the majors, but to Brian Bruney?  After telling everybody it doesn’t bother you?  Go after A-Rod or something.
